Burmese Lacquer Offering Bowl

A traditional vessel for taking food offerings to the temples and monasteries of Bagan, Myanmar, where this exquisite piece was made by Nwe Ni and family.

This piece has 16 coats of thitsee lacquer and is decorated with a puppet motif in cinnabar, and would have taken 8-9 months to complete.
